At installation time, the only user allowed to access the backend is the beagle user on the same host as the server. With this release, any user added to BeagleSQL's system catalogs has permission to update any table, including system tables. This will change....

ADDING USERS - Login to the host running the backend as beagle (su'ing won't work) and run isql. To grant access to the user stan on the host www.theman.com do the following:

        $ isql
        Connecting to localhost...

        isql--> \oi

        isql--> insert into sys_user values ('stan','www.theman.com')
         --> 'OK'

        isql--> \q

REMOVING USERS - Login to the host running the backend as beagle (su'ing won't work) and run isql. To revoke access to the user stan on the host www.theman.com do the following:

        $ isql
        Connecting to localhost...

        isql--> \oi

        isql--> delete from sys_user where sys_user_name = 'stan' and sys_user_host = 'www.theman.com'
         --> 'OK'

        isql--> \q
